Who we are

Assofloro is the only second-level association in Italy in the horticultural and landscape sector and is the professional body of horticulturalists, as well as of organisations and associations of the green supply chain at the national level.
Among the main objectives of the Association, there are the promotion of research and studies for the resolution of specific problems or needs in the sector, establish memoranda of understanding or agreements regarding technical assistance and training, coming to agreements with institutions to facilitate the work of companies, to draw up guidelines together with the plant health system for the management of production and problems concerning diseases and external agents regarding plants and their movement inside and outside the country.

Assofloro has signed important agreements with other production chains, to create best practice observatories, aimed at selecting and presenting outstanding experiences in urban regeneration through green areas, a fundamental tool in the fight against climate change, to improve the resilience of the inhabitants and create better living and working conditions.

The association is currently composed of the members operating in the provinces of Bergamo, Brescia, Lodi, Milan, Monza Brianza and Varese, and the District of the provinces of Mantua and Cremona. It represents over 1000 companies operating in Italy. Assofloro is also affiliated with the Italian Society of Arboriculture (SIA) and the Arboriculturist Association (AA), with members throughout the country.

Assofloro is recognised by institutions and the business world as a reliable and representative partner of the Italian green supply chain. In recent years, through its President, Assofloro has been working at the Chamber and Senate level, at the Presidency of the VI Permanent Commission of Finance in the Chamber of Deputies, within the Advisory Body of Experts for Italy. Furthermore, it has collaborated with the Presidency of the Commission for the Environment, Territory and Public Works (Chamber of Deputies), as well as with Deputies and Senators of the Agriculture-Food Production and Finance-Treasury Commissions.

Assofloro is an active participant in the Horticultural Technical Committee at the Ministry of Agricultural, Food, Forestry and Tourism Policies (MIPAAFT).

A special technical section has been in operation since 2018, to bring together and coordinate professionals and companies active in the care and management of green areas, to develop and promote training and professionalism in the field of professional gardening and arboriculture.
